Holiday Eating

Though eating healthy during the holidays are a challenge for most, people with diabetes have a head start on eating healthy.
Avoiding lots of sweets and foods that provide little nutriiton is a natural part of the day. Loooking at the carbohydrates and calories in foods is second nature. Balancing healthy foods with sweets and watching portions comes naturally.
During the holidays stay on top of your game by adjusting you rmedication if necessary to compensate for extra calories/carbohdrates. WAtch out for those “hidden carbohydrates” when you eat at restaurants or parties. Remember exericse can lower blood suagrs so doing an activity after eating can lower your blood sugars. Enjoy your favorite foods in moderation along with friends and family.
